Second, I have another Windows Server VM that incorrectly had 200 GB of space added to its hard disk as a new drive volume instead of being added as a new hard disk in the "Edit Settings" menu on vcenter.

To remedy that, can I simply reduce the size of the hard disk under the "Edit Settings" option in vcenter? Or will that possibly cause issues with the VM? The space is sitting in Disk Management as "unallocated" at the moment and is completely unneeded.

This question is two-fold due to two situations.įirst of all, I have a VMware ESXi VM running Windows Server that had too muchĪdded to its hard disk by another IT person.
